This is a poem from her book <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What Love Requires<\/span>, published by Overstep Books, and seems to me to capture the tragedy of the culture of lies that dominates current politics, and their devastating consequences. As easily<br \/>\nas darkness sexing<br \/>\na starless sky into night.<br \/>\nOther were noble lies<br \/>\nwhich fell like Plato\u2019s rain<br \/>\nengendering the social<br \/>\nharmony: dissimulators<br \/>\nuntil the end of time.<br \/>\nBut no one knew<br \/>\nwhere the roots,<br \/>\nthe steadfast ones,<br \/>\nhad burrowed<br \/>\nin our post-truth world.<br \/>\nLight seemed to slip away.<br \/>\nsome said it illumined \u2026<br \/>\nAll the while, the lies<br \/>\ncame fast as funerals<br \/>\nfor glaciers.
