We have sadly said goodbye to three children who have moved away from Oxford earlier in the year, and have also welcomed a new child to the meeting.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In March, our <b>Beansprouts <\/b>children\u2019s meeting (for toddlers) had a theme of animal homes, using this to think about what we all need to feel safe and secure, using resources from the child mental health charity Place2Be. Some of the stories we shared are: <i>The Home Builders <\/i>by Varsha Bajaj; <i>Over and Under the Snow <\/i>by Kate Messner; and <i>Little Home Bird <\/i>by Jo Empson.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordquaker.com\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1146\" src=\"https:\/\/oxfordquaker.com\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture2-300x141.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oxfordquaker.com\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture2-300x141.png 300w, https:\/\/oxfordquaker.com\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture2.png 740w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordquaker.com\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/unnamed-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1159\" src=\"https:\/\/oxfordquaker.com\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/unnamed-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"228\" height=\"270\"><\/a>Over successive weeks we each made an animal out of a toilet roll inner; then made a home for our animal, then drew\/stuck what we thought our animal needed in its home.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In April we explored the theme of identity and colour. Some of the stories we shared included: <i>Black all Around! <\/i>by Patricia Hubbell; <i>My Many Coloured Days <\/i>by Dr Seuss; <i>The Song of Francis <\/i>by Tomie dePaola; and <i>Sky Color <\/i>by Peter H. Along the way we all made mouse finger puppets; thought about inclusion and accessibility in our meetings; and tried writing our own queries.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<th><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1147\" src=\"https:\/\/oxfordquaker.com\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture6-300x260.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oxfordquaker.com\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture6-300x260.png 300w, https:\/\/oxfordquaker.com\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Picture6.png 306w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/th>\n<th><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1162\" src=\"https:\/\/oxfordquaker.com\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/unnamed.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"159\">&nbsp;<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p class=\"p2\">We also read <span class=\"s1\"><i>George\u2019s Journey <\/i><\/span>by Marcela Teran and Tim Gee: a rhyming story about George Fox. We then each drew around our feet, decorating our foot-shapes with words and pictures about a big step we have taken in our own lives.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Each Sunflowers children\u2019s meeting includes several periods of silent worship, with each of the children rotating the role of elder: a role which continues to be very popular.
