The Celtic monk<br \/>\nwho loved the wilderness of Wales<br \/>\ngazed at the new-born and declared<br \/>\n\u2018I look into the very face of God.<br \/>\nHis spirit is in all that is created<br \/>\nfrom tiny insects crawling in the grass<br \/>\nto great wild beasts<br \/>\nthat roam throughout the forest.<br \/>\nGod\u2019s spirit dwells within them.<br \/>\nTrees and grass and flowers,<br \/>\nGod\u2019s spirit gives them beauty.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The argument was fierce in Rome<br \/>\nand Palestine. The powerful<br \/>\nprevailed, a heretic denounced.<br \/>\nMan took dominion over mother nature,<br \/>\nfed his people, prospered, grew.<br \/>\nThe wild was tamed, subdued, then ravaged.<br \/>\nOur earth lies conquered, breathless,<br \/>\ncounted out.<\/p>\n<p>So was Augustine right? Has sin<br \/>\ndestroyed the gift of life,<br \/>\ninvisible boundaries crashed<br \/>\nby needy egos?<\/p>\n<p>Listen!
